Uto J. Meier

Uto J. Meier (* 1955 ) is a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1975 at St. Stephan , he did military service from 1975 to 1976 with the 222 Mountain Infantry Battalion in Mittenwald . From 1976 to 1982 he studied Catholic theology and German for teaching at grammar schools ( University of Munich ) and philosophy at the University of Philosophy . In 1982 he passed the first state examination for German and Catholic religious studies. From 1982 to 1984 he was a student trainee at the Luitpold-Gymnasium in Munich . In 1984 he passed the second state examination. From 1984 to 1989 he was Academic Councilor a. Currently at the chair for religious education with Eugen Paul der Kath.-Theol. Faculty of the University of Augsburg . After receiving his doctorate in 1991 as Dr. theol. in Augsburg he was a research assistant and habilitation candidate at the chair for school education ( Werner Wiater ) from 1994 to 1995 . From 1989 to 1995 he was a teacher for German and Kath. Religious Studies at the Wernher von Braun High School and at Bayern Kolleg Augsburg . In 1995 he became professor for religious education at the University of Eichstätt in the university of applied sciences course RP / KB. In the winter semester 2000/2001 he was visiting professor at the University of Omsk at the Institute for Theology and Weltanschauung. Lectures on questions of religious identity formation and religious ethics. In the summer semester of 2005 he gave lectures on intercultural learning and ethical management at the Orenburg University at the Institute for Management .

His main research interests are teaching research on the reception of the curricula in the subject of Catholic religious studies, implementation of ethical convictions in executives, religious and ethical education of military forces and religion and piety among young people.
