Location of the Uchur (Учур) in the catchment area of the Aldan |
The Uchur ( Russian Учур ) is an 812 kilometer long right tributary of the Aldan in Eastern Siberia ( Russia , Asia ).
course
The Uchur rises in the extreme eastern part of the Stanowoy Mountains at an altitude of about 1500 m . It first flows in an easterly direction, then turns north and cuts through or flows around the Geran ridge , which is up to 2258 meters high, and the Ulkan ridge , foothills of the Stanowoy Mountains in the direction of the Jugdschur Mountains .
The river then flows in a westerly direction, reaching the eastern edge of the Aldan highlands , along which it again flows in wide arcs in northern directions. It flows into the Aldan about five kilometers below the village of Tschagda on the right bank of the Aldan at an altitude of 179 m .
The most important tributaries are Ujan (length 233 km), Chaikan (150 km), Tyrkan (238 km), Gonam (686 km) and Gynym (297 km) from the left, and Ulkan (111 km) from the right.
The Uchur initially flows through the northwestern part of the Khabarovsk region and reaches the autonomous Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) at the confluence of its largest tributary, the Gonam .
Hydrography
The Uchur catchment area covers around 113,000 km². Near the mouth, the river is almost 500 meters wide and around four meters deep; the flow velocity is 1.1 m / s.
The Uchur freezes between the end of October / beginning of November and the first half of May, followed by floods that last all summer. In the area of outcrop kicking of thermal springs the whole winter stay over polynyas (ice-free river sections) were obtained.
The mean water flow of the Uchur is 154 kilometers above the estuary 1345 m³ / s with an average monthly minimum of 46 m³ / s in March and a maximum of 3652 m³ / s in June.
Infrastructure
Despite its depth and its considerable water flow, the Uchur is not navigable due to a large number of sandbanks, even in the lower reaches.
The area through which it flows is practically unpopulated. There are no places on the river, and accordingly there is no infrastructure whatsoever.
