Uwe Bernzen

Uwe Bernzen (born December 27, 1938 in Lübeck ) is a German lawyer .

Life

After studying law and completing his doctorate in Kiel , he joined the Hamburg civil service in 1967. For many years he worked as legal counsel for the citizenship and deputy director of the Hamburg state parliament. After the fall of the wall he built the management of Hamburg's partner city of Dresden with and then became director of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern , where he as Chairman of the Board of Examiners for the 1st Legal State Examination at the Ministry of Justice of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and as a lecturer at the University of Rostock worked . After his retirement in 2000, he joined the law firm BERNZEN SONNTAG Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB of his son Christian .

He was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Walddörfer local committee and chairman of the CDU in Volksdorf . In the Catholic parish Heilig Kreuz in Volksdorf worked u. a. as chairman of the parish council . At the Malteser Aid Service , to which he has been a member for over 50 years, he was chairman for many years in Hamburg and northern Germany and vice-president for Germany. In 2003, Ole von Beust presented him with the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class awarded by the Federal President . In 2014 he received the Grand Cross of the New Year's Eve . State Councilor Christoph Krupp awarded him an honorary professorship in Hamburg on September 1, 2015 .
