Uwe Neumann (swimming coach)

Uwe Neumann is a former German swimming coach. In 1997 he was dismissed from the DSV because of his stasis, in 1999 he was sentenced to a fine for willful bodily harm as part of the GDR compulsory doping system .

Career

Neumann completed his sports studies at the German University for Physical Culture in Leipzig as a certified sports teacher in the 1960s . He then took over swimming training at SC Einheit Dresden for a few years , where he trained Ulrike Richter and Rica Reinisch , among others . His training group was part of the state-prescribed doping in GDR competitive sports . He was fined 8,000 marks by the Dresden District Court for doping nine active persons between 1973 and 1989 without their knowledge. In the Ministry of State Security Neumann was from 1974 to 1989 as an unofficial member Holbert out.

After the turning point and the peaceful revolution , he took up the post of honorary trainer in the German Swimming Association (DSV) at the Leipzig Olympic base in 1991 .
