Véronique Silver

Véronique Silver (born September 2, 1931 in Amiens , Somme , France , † July 24, 2010 in Paris ; actually Louise Isabelle Maria Puret ) was a French theater and film actress .

Life

Véronique Silver first played theater in the 1950s. In 1954 she appeared as an extra in Sacha Guitry's Versailles - Kings and Women for the first time in a film. From the 1960s on, she often appeared in French television productions. This was followed by appearances as a character actress in films by Alain Resnais such as My Uncle from America (1980) and Life is a Roman (1983). In 1982 she stood in front of the camera alongside Romy Schneider in The Walker of Sans-Souci . For her portrayal of the narrator Madame Odile Jouve in François Truffaut's film drama The Woman Next Door (1981) she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the César in 1982 . With Fanny Ardant , who played the title role in The Woman Next Door , Silver was also seen in the 1989 television production The Great Capriole , a costume drama about the French Revolution by Nina Companéez .

Silver was married to the actor Henri Virlojeux until his death in 1995. She herself died in Paris in 2010 at the age of 78 .
