Víctor Manuel Pérez Rojas (born October 17, 1940 in Las Mercedes del Llano ; † November 12, 2019 in Caracas ) was a Venezuelan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Fernando de Apure .

Life

Víctor Manuel Pérez Rojas studied philosophy at the Seminary of Barquisimeto and theology at the Interdiocesan Seminary of Santa Rosa de Lima in Caracas. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Calabozo on September 11, 1965 . He was active in church offices for many years and was the founder of several schools and educational centers in the state of Guárico.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Calabozo and titular bishop of Tagaria on May 9, 1998 . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Calabozo, Helímenas de Jesús Rojo Paredes CIM , on June 23 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Miguel Antonio Salas Salas CIM, Old Archbishop of Mérida , and Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo , Archbishop of Mérida.

On November 7, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of San Fernando de Apure . Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 15, 2016.
