VIII. Civil Senate of the Imperial Court

The 8th civil senate of the Reichsgericht was a ruling body of the Reichsgericht . It was one of a total of five to nine senates that dealt with civil matters. It existed from April 1928 to July 1933 and from 1939.

First of all, the 8th civil senate, as a so-called "discharge senate", dealt with matrimonial matters (§ 606 ZPO old version ) from the districts of the chamber court , the higher regional courts of Braunschweig , Celle , Dresden and all Bavarian higher regional courts (from the fourth civil senate ) as well as the legal disputes about rent - and leases (assigned by the 3rd Civil Senate ). The Senate President was Alfons David . Other occupations in 1929: Karl Linz , Karl Hüfner , Carl Mengelkoch , Fritz Rheinisch , Max Coninx , Curt Citron , Wilhelm Obladen.

From 1939 the 8th Civil Senate was responsible for decisions from the "Ostmark" , the Sudeten German areas and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . Senate President was August Zellner , formerly acting President of the now dissolved Supreme Court in Vienna. In 1943 this Senate became the VII Civil Senate.
