VI. Criminal Senate of the Reich Court

The VI. Criminal Senate of the Reichsgericht was a ruling body of the Reichsgericht . It was one of up to six counted senates that dealt with criminal matters .

The Senate was first established on April 15, 1921. It existed for two years, its President was Paul Richter .

It was established for the second time on July 8, 1933 with the simultaneous dissolution of the 8th Civil Senate as a "half" State Security Senate : On the one hand, it shared the first-instance jurisdiction for high and state treason with the 4th and 5th Criminal Senate (letters A to D as well as T to Z), on the other hand he was an appeal instance for the higher regional courts of Dresden , Königsberg , Marienwerder and Stettin . It was dissolved in 1934 in connection with the creation of the People's Court .

It existed again from 1935 to 1938 and finally from 1939/40, now as an appeal instance for the Austrian higher regional courts of Graz , Innsbruck , Linz and Vienna (last Senate President 1943–45: Friedrich Döbig ).
