VR Bank Ravensburg-Weingarten eG has existed in its current form since summer 2017. This was achieved through the merger of Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg eG with Volksbank Weingarten eG. The Ravensburg location forms the company headquarters with the central company administration. The aim of the merger was to create a competitive unit from two established banks.

When it was founded in 1866, Volksbank Weingarten eG was one of the oldest independent credit cooperatives in the region.

Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg eG

Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg eG had its origins in the Wolpertswende loan association founded in 1898, from which Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg eG emerged after several mergers in 1996.

Main office

The main office of VR Bank Ravensburg-Weingarten eG, which was completed in December 2015, was already occupied by the still independent banks Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg eG and Volksbank Weingarten eG before the merger. At the beginning, the banks operated as two independent companies in one building, but that changed in the course of the merger.

The U-shaped building is the result of an architectural competition between 19 offices. They set themselves the task of designing a simple and functional, yet striking building. The design by fuchs.maucher.architekten.bda from Waldkirch emerged as the winner of the competition . The spacious inner courtyard of the main office ensures that all rooms are lit. The generous use of glass inside the building is intended to support the open and communicative working methods of the employees.
