The comedy Father Against Will ( Sous le ciel de Provence / Quatre pas dans les nuages / Era di venerdì 17 ) from 1956 is a Franco-Italian co-production. The director was Mario Soldati , with the comedian Fernandel in the lead role . It is the first remake of the Italian classic Lie a Summer Night from 1942, where Gino Cervi played the main character.
The main character is Paul, who leads a joyless married life and is a sales representative. When he is on the road again, he meets a young woman who is expecting a child from a guy who has abandoned her.
