Ventnor City is a city in Atlantic County , New Jersey , USA . In the 2000 census , a population of 12,910 was registered.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 9.2 km² , of which 5.5 km² is land and 3.6 km² (39.44%) is water.
history
Two structures and sites on the site are on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of October 24, 2018, the John Stafford Historic District and Ventnor City Hall .
Demographics
As of the 2000 census, there are 12,910 people, 5,480 households and 3,255 families in the city. The population density is 2,329.2 inhabitants per km². 77.10% of the population is White, 2.94% African American , 0.19% Native American , 7.45% Asian , 0.03% Pacific Islander , 9.37% from other races, and 2.93% mixed race . 17.14% are Latinos of any race.
Of the 5,480 households, 23.0% have children under the age of 18. 42.5% of them are married couples living together, 12.0% are single mothers, 40.6% are not families, 33.5% consist of single households and 14.7% are people over 65. The average household size is 2 , 35, the average family size 3.02.
20.0% of the population are under 18 years old, 7.1% between 18 and 24, 29.6% between 25 and 44, 23.6% between 45 and 64, 19.8% older than 65. The average age is 41 years. The ratio of women to men is 100: 91.0, for people older than 18 the ratio is 100: 87.4.
