Veronica Roth

Veronica Roth (born August 19, 1988 in New York City ) is an American writer .

Life

Veronica Roth grew up in the Chicago suburb of Barrington . She studied Creative Writing at Northwestern University and graduated in 2010. At the age of twenty she began working on her first novel, which she wrote from the point of view of the character Tobias, and then put it aside to come back to later. In 2011 it was published under the title Divergent . It was on the New York Times bestseller list for a week and was published in German in 2012 under the title The Determination . In the same year, the second part of the series, The Determination - Deadly Truth (Insurgent) appeared . In 2013, Roth concluded the trilogy with The Determination - Final Decision (Allegiant) .

The film version of the first novel came to the cinemas in 2014 with The Determination - Divergent . The filming of the second part was titled The Determination - Insurgent from March 2015. The third part will be filmed in two parts, of which the first part The Determination - Allegiant Part 1 started on March 17, 2016 in German cinemas.
