The administrative community Backnang is an agreed administrative community in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg . Members are the town of Backnang and the communities Allmersbach im Tal , Althütte , Aspach , Auenwald , Burgstetten , Kirchberg an der Murr , Oppenweiler and Weissach im Tal . According to § 59 of the Baden-Württemberg municipal code, the city of Backnang is the fulfilling municipality , i.e. it fulfills the tasks of the administrative community.

The city of Backnang advises the neighboring communities on how to fulfill their tasks. It handles the following matters for the participating municipalities on their behalf:

Legal completion tasks:

  • the technical matters in the binding land-use planning and the implementation of land planning measures as well as measures according to the Urban Development Act
  • the planning, construction management and local construction supervision in building construction and civil engineering projects,
  • the maintenance and development of the second-order waters,

Further completion tasks:

  • the expansion and maintenance of street lighting,
  • Street cleaning, with the exception of winter service,
  • the sewer cleaning.

Instead of the member municipalities, the city of Backnang is responsible for the preparatory construction planning (fulfillment task).

The main body is the joint committee, which consists of the mayors and other representatives of each member municipality.
