In the eichsfeld-südharz in Thuringia Eichsfeld nine municipalities have joined forces to do their administrative business. Before its dissolution there lived 9,316 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2007) on an area of ​​125.85 km². The seat of the administrative community was Weißenborn-Lüderode.

history

The administrative community was founded on July 31, 1991. On August 20, 1993, the three municipalities of the Obere Bode administrative community were added after their dissolution. As a result of the amalgamation of the municipalities of Bischofferode , Großbodungen and Neustadt to form the municipality of Am Ohmberg on December 1, 2010, the number of member municipalities decreased from eleven to nine. The eight other communities merged on December 1, 2011 to form the new community Sonnenstein ; the administrative community was thus dissolved.
