In the administrative community of Hahnenkamm in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen , the following communities have come together to handle their administrative business:

The administrative association is based in Heidenheim. 4555 people live here (as of December 31, 2014), which corresponds to around five percent of the population of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district. It is located in the south of Central Franconia in the west of the district. It is named after the Hahnenkamm ridge . The longest river in the region is the Rohrach , which feeds the Hahnenkammsee south of Heidenheim . The administrative community is 93.1 square kilometers in size, which corresponds to about ten percent of the area of the district.
The municipality of Polsingen belonged to the administrative community until December 31, 1979 .
