In the administrative community Haselgrund from the Thuringian district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen , six municipalities had come together to handle their administrative business.

The places of the administrative community are in the valley of the Hasel and the Schönau on the southern slope or in the middle of the Thuringian Forest , enclosed in a typical low mountain range.

The seat of the administrative community was Viernau , last chairman Ralf Liebaug.

history

The administrative community was founded on April 9, 1994. The member community Springstille left the administrative community as part of the Thuringia regional reform in 2018 and 2019 on July 6, 2018 and was incorporated into Schmalkalden . The administrative community was dissolved on January 1, 2019. The member communities were incorporated into the city of Steinbach-Hallenberg .
