About this picture

The towns of Gräfenthal and Lehesten and the municipality of Probstzella have joined forces in the administrative community of Schiefergebirge from the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district of Thuringia to handle their administrative business. The administrative seat is in Probstzella.

history

The administrative community was originally founded on February 4, 1994 under the name Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Probstzella / Loquitzgrund . It was renamed the Probstzella-Lehesten-Marktgölitz administrative community on September 1, 1995. Until it was incorporated into Probstzella on March 16, 2004, Marktgölitz also belonged to the administrative community as an independent municipality. With the Thuringian law on voluntary reorganization in 2013, the city of Gräfenthal joined the administrative community on December 31st. This got its current name.
