history
The historical forerunner of the Vogtei administrative community was the Vogtei Dorla : Until 1329 the lords of the Archdiocese of Mainz and the lords of Treffurt ruled the three villages of the Mark Dorla , which had formed from the former Urdorla . The Treffurter were robber barons . The always endangered and neighboring Mainz, Hesse and Saxony put the robber barons on a raid. The possessions and rights of the Treffurter were part of the spoils of war of the three victors. These agreed on a joint administration of the three villages Oberdorla, Langula and Niederdorla. From 1333 onwards, the three Siegerländer set a bailiff each in each of the three villages in order to protect their rights and property . This is how the smallest territory in the Holy Roman Empire came into being . Because this little country was ruled by three bailiffs, the people were called bailiwick from then on and until today. Far and wide, the inhabitants of the three places are not even assigned to a village, they are called bailiwicks.
The administrative community was founded on May 12, 1992. On December 31, 2012, the three member communities of Langula, Niederdorla and Oberdorla merged to form the new Vogtei community, which became a fulfilling community for the other two communities of Oppershausen and Kammerforst. At the same time, the administrative community Vogtei was dissolved.
