The Video-HomeVision magazine appears monthly at WEKA Media Publishing in Haar near Munich . It was founded as “video” magazine in 1979 by the Motor Presse Stuttgart publishing house and celebrated its 30th anniversary in spring 2009. The magazine has belonged to WEKA Holding since August 2008 and was merged with the magazine HomeVision , which was already published there, for issue 11/2008 . Today it appears again under the title video.

Topics and priorities

video provides depth articles, expert testing and background reports on current issues and the latest products of consumer electronics such as LCD - and plasma - TVs , 3D TV's, video projectors , Blu-ray players , Blu-ray recorders , camcorders and home theater systems , speakers -Sets and AV receivers . Accessories and materials are also described and their quality assessed. The tests and measurements are carried out in the laboratories of the publishing house in Poing and by WEKA's own TestFactory , a certified laboratory in Stuttgart .

In addition to the standard edition, a subscription is also available as a Blu-ray edition, which is accompanied by a Blu-ray disc with documentary films in high definition quality.

The editors of video also produce special issues and supplements such as “ iPod , MP3 player & Co.” or the home networking special “Connected Home”.

Together with the sister magazines AUDIO and stereoplay, Video-HomeVision carries out the traditional readers' choice of the device of the year every year. In this context, the best consumer electronics products of the year from the readers' point of view will be awarded. The awards are given each spring at a large gala event in Munich.

The official website was later merged with the Swiss magazines PC Magazin and PCgo .
