Viktor of Puthon

Viktor Freiherr von Puthon (born March 3, 1842 in Vienna , † January 11, 1919 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian civil servant and politician.

Viktor von Puthon attended grammar school and university in Vienna. From 1864 to 1890 he was an official of the Lieutenancy in Graz. He was married and had three children.

From 1890 to 1902 Puthon was governor ( regional chief ) of Austria ob der Enns , in addition also chairman of the regional school board for Austria ob der Enns, also acting interim in 1890 for a few days governor for Tyrol with Vorarlberg . During his tenure, he tried to repair the damage caused by the flood disasters of 1897 and 1899 , as well as to settle disputes between Conservatives and Christian Socials . He was a member of the manor house of the Austrian Imperial Council .
