Vincent Hognon (born August 16, 1974 in Nancy ) is a former French football player and current coach .

Career

society

Vincent Hognon began his career at the then second division AS Nancy , the largest club in his hometown. In a total of nine years he rose with his club twice in Ligue 1 and twice again. He made his first division debut in the 2-1 defeat against Cannes on August 10, 1996 at the age of 22. In 2002, the defender then moved to AS Saint-Étienne . With his new team he made it to the first division after two years, where he played with the Stéphanois until 2007. Then Hognon moved to league rivals OGC Nice on a free transfer . At the end of the 2008/09 season, he ended his career.

Trainer

After Hognon coached the U-19 team of his home club AS Nancy from 2010 to 2013 , he took over the first team in January 2013 as assistant coach of the former head of the youth department Patrick Gabriel . Previously, the previous coach Jean Fernandez had left the bottom of the league table after an unsuccessful first half of the season. Hognon and Gabriel still led the team in 18th place, but could no longer prevent relegation. After only two wins from the first ten games of the new season, Gabriel returned to the youth division and Pablo Correa became the new head coach. The Uruguayan had already trained the team from 2002 to 2011. Vincent Hognon remained in office as assistant coach. After a significant increase in performance, both of them reached fourth place in the table with Nancy and thus only just missed direct re-promotion. In the 2014/15 season, the team failed again as fifth in the table.
