John Boye (born April 23, 1987 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player who has been under contract with FC Metz since summer 2018 .
Career
society
In his youth, John Boye played at various clubs, including Schwepps , the Pro Consult Sports Academy , and Miracle FC , until he finally ended up with Heart of Lions in 2005 . In 2007 he joined the professional division of the club. In July 2008 he completed a two-week trial training session at the French club Stade Rennes . In September it was awarded to the Rennes B team with a purchase option. After 24 games and three goals for the B-Team, he returned to the "Lions" in June 2009. However, Rennes was interested in a further commitment and came to him two weeks later with a contract offer, but Boye said he had already signed a contract with the Israeli club Hapoel Petach Tikwa . But the move to Israel did not materialize and so he signed a contract with Stade Rennes on July 10, 2009. Boye played exclusively in the second team in the first season, but was also used in the professional team in the 2010/11 season from February 2011 and made his Ligue 1 debut against OGC Nice on February 13 on the starting line-up .
For the 2014/15 season, Boye moved to the Turkish first division club Kayseri Erciyesspor . After the relegation of Erciyesspor in the summer of 2015, Boye moved to league rivals Sivasspor .
National team
On June 17, 2008, he was in the context of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup for the game on June 22 against Gabon nominated and completed in this game his first senior international when he was in the 60th minute for Issah Ahmed came on . He was part of Ghana's 23-strong squad for the 2012 African Cup of Nations and played the group game against Botswana on January 24, 2012.
So far, Boye has played 63 international matches for his home country (5 goals).
