Viola von der Burg (born May 17, 1965 in Furth ) is a German actress .

Life

Viola von der Burg completed her master's degree as a men's tailor at “Max Dietl” Hautes Coutures in Munich, and was on the way to becoming a costume and set designer. But she finally realized her real desire to become an actress at the age of 24 at Ruth von Zerboni's drama school and received private lessons from Rudolf Noelte , Regine Lutz and Thomas Holtzmann . She played in numerous theaters in Munich - a. a. in the Metropoltheater, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in "the Rakes Progress" by Igor Stravinsky , at the Bavarian State Opera in "Canon for Closed Society" directed by Ruedi Häusermann, at the Bavarian State Theater and with Cordula Trantow in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria and at the municipal theaters Regensburg (as Minna in Minna von Barnhelm and Olivia in What you want ). From 2002 to 2003 she was a member of the “ Münchner Lach- und Schießgesellschaft ” ensemble with Holger Paetz , Michael Altinger and Uli Bauer . Since 2003 she has been a member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Frankfurt and played a. a. the "Winnie" in Happy Days by Samuel Beckett and directed by the French actor and director André Wilms u. a. the "A" in "Cats Have 7 Lives" by Jenny Erpenbeck, the "Solange" in Jean Genet's maid, the "note" in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.

In 2009 she moved to the Schauspielhaus Zurich and was known as “Mrs. Peachum ”in the Threepenny Opera . Their portrayal was praised in the "Kurt Weill News letter" New York. Von der Burg received the 2014 Audience Award for her portrayal of "Don Quixote" at the Bad Hersfeld Festival .

Viola von der Burg u. a. as Renate in Sharon von Wietersheim Supersingle and in the cinema in Peter Gersinas Vienna in Marcus H. Rosenmüller'sPerl Mother Color ” in “ Die Vampirschwestern ” Director: Thomas Groß and made the short film “Magic Bus” with Emir Kusturica .
