Holger Paetz (born August 23, 1952 in Munich ) is a German cabaret artist , songwriter and author of satirical texts.

Life

Holger Paetz is the son of Ruth Paetz (October 29, 1923 to June 16, 1988) and Hans Paetz (April 24, 1916 to March 14, 2006), engineer and later Operations Director of the Aschaffenburg hard coal-fired power station of Bayernwerk AG Munich. Holger Paetz grew up in the settlement of the power plant in Leider , a district of Aschaffenburg. He attended the Brentano School in Aschaffenburg and then the Humanist Gymnasium, which is now called the Kronberg Gymnasium . Already during his school days and especially during his studies he was musically active in various folk bands, u. a. in the folklore group "Trapaetz", which he founded (production with Bavarian Radio and television appearance in the ARD "Talentschuppen" in Berlin). After breaking off his studies in musicology, art history and English at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , he decided to embark on an artistic career. He wrote his own texts and songs ( Ascheberscher Cityblues ) and developed his first cabaret solo programs. In 1976 he was awarded the Hessischer Rundfunk songwriting award. In 1977 he went to Munich and appeared there on various cabaret stages , such as the KEKK , the Robinson song stage , the musical underwood (MUH) and the backyard theater . On the side he earned his living as a cemetery gardener, waiter and archivist.

His solo cabaret finally led Paetz to the Mainz lower house . He performed at the KampnagelFestival in Hamburg and the Leipzig salmon fair . He was a guest in cabaret programs such as the midnight peak , Ottis Schlachthof and the windshield wiper , where he wrote texts together with Dieter Hildebrandt . Dieter Hildebrandt was also his godfather at the award ceremony of the Salzburg Bull Cabaret Prize , which Paetz received in 1996.

From 1999 on he worked with Uli Bauer , who, like Paetz, belonged to the ensemble of the Munich Lach- und Schießgesellschaft founded in 2002 . From 1999 to 2009 he was the main author of the Singspiel at the Starkbieranstich am Nockherberg , where he also played the role of FDP politician Guido Westerwelle . Since September 2009, Paetz has been giving a satirical-political monthly review at a Sunday matinee at the Valentin-Musäum in Munich under the title " It's rarely been so beautiful!" Every year from December onwards, Holger Paetz plays an annual review program under the same title. His solo " Gott Had Zeit Enough" premiered on January 13, 2010 in the lower house of Mainz and the stage program " Entire firmly let go" on March 17, 2012 in the Hofgarten cabaret , Aschaffenburg. Also there, at the end of October 2013, the premiere of the program " Vegans wither" took place and in October 2016 the program " Ecstasy in dignity" .
