Vladimír Fischer

Vladimír Fischer (born July 4, 1870 in Fryšták , Moravia; † October 28, 1947 in Brno ) was a Czech architect , professor at the Czech Technical University in Brno and its rector from 1931–1932.

Fischer's father, Anton Fischer, was a builder who had his own company in Fryšták and later Holešov. From 1887 to 1893, Vladimír Fischer studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague . Between 1894 and 1898 he gained practical experience with Emil von Förster , Hermann Helmer and Ferdinand Fellner the Younger in Vienna . From 1901 to 1918 he worked in the National Technical Service in the governor's office in Brno, Moravia. He became the supreme councilor and head of the construction department in the regional administration in Brno (1918–1923). From 1923 to 1939 he worked as a professor at the Czech Technical University in Brno, from 1924 to 1925 and 1935 to 1936 he was Vice-Rector for Architecture and Building and 1931–1932 Rector of the whole school. He worked as a curator for the Brno District from 1939 to 1941.
