action

Lena moved to live with her grandfather in the small town where her entire family originally came from. Grandfather is not taken seriously in town as a strange person. He lives extremely poorly and mainly spends his money on paintings that are related to the history of the town. Lena is twelve years old and is in the 6th grade. The other children mock her as a scarecrow . She quickly becomes an outsider in the class. Only Dima, who is accepted by everyone, finds the girl likeable. Lena falls in love with the boy. Shortly before the class is due to leave for a school trip to Moscow , the students skip school to go to the cinema. However, they get caught when Dima returns to class to get his forgotten piggy bank. The teacher confronts him and he confesses the offense. However, he does not know that Lena is standing behind the door and overhears his confession. There are also two other students in the classroom. However, they are hiding. The entire class will be punished for this offense and will not be allowed to travel to Moscow. The class leader Mironova then goes in search of the traitor. When an innocent student is suspected, Lena poses as a traitor. She would like to save the beloved Dima from a confession. A witch hunt for Lena then begins, culminating in a scarecrow being burned on a stake. And at this point Dima also takes part in the bullying against Lena. Lena is now devastated and grandfather decides to leave town with her. Before that, he gives his paintings to the city, which is to set up a museum for the pictures. On the day of departure, the class also realizes that Lena is innocent. But it's too late now. She leaves the city by ship.

Reviews

“A film that has been observed excellently in terms of youth psychology and has a long, calm narrative flow. The almost pogrom-like terrorist actions by classmates, which sometimes take up a large space, are shocking. "
