Volker Herold

Volker Herold (born January 29, 1959 in Thale ) is a German actor and director .

Career

Herold graduated from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rostock from 1982 to 1986 . He received guest contracts in Leipzig, Tübingen and Frankfurt (Oder) and was engaged at the Meininger Theater from 1986 to 1989 . From 1989 to 1990 Herold was engaged at the Landestheater Dessau . Herold has been working as a freelancer in Berlin since 1990 and is involved in various projects with Jo Fabian & example dept. Since 1996, Herold has been guest directing at the Leipziger Schauspielhaus, the Volkstheater Rostock , the Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt , the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and the Landestheater Neubrandenburg - Neustrelitz . Since 1998, Herold has also been a guest at the Die Oderhähne cabaret , Frankfurt (Oder) . In 2008 he played the doorman in the musical Elixier (music by Tobias Künzel ).

Herold has also been active in film and television since the early 1990s. He received his first leading role in 1990 in the episode The Duel of the crime film series Polizeiruf 110 , in which he played the brutal burglar Holm in the turmoil of the times of change. Numerous supporting roles followed, mainly in television series. Herold became known to a larger television audience as Bernd Plenske in the Sat.1 - Telenovela Verliebt in Berlin . He played this role from 2005 to 2007. In 2009 he was seen as "Piefke" Fischer in the series Klinik am Alex on Sat.1. He also developed, wrote and maintained “Piefke's” diary in 28 episodes on the Sat.1 website.
