Volker Schnurrbusch

Volker Schnurrbusch (born January 12, 1958 ) is a German politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). He has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since the 2017 state election .

Life

Schnurrbusch studied German , history and education . He completed his studies in pedagogy with the state examination for upper secondary level . After his traineeship , he worked as a press officer or press spokesman for media companies , as an editor in magazine publishers and as a member of the management team in television production and as an independent producer and author for television productions and industrial films.

Schnurrbusch is married and has three children.

Schnurrbusch joined the AfD in April 2013 and was on the board of the Stormarn district association from 2013 to 2016, most recently as deputy chairman. In 2015 he was elected as the first deputy state chairman of the AfD Schleswig-Holstein , and in 2016 he was re-elected. He is active in press work at the state level and in election campaign management at the federal and European level. In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2017, he was in 5th place on the list and moved into the state parliament as a member. He is the parliamentary director of his group.

On July 20, 2017, the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament lifted Schnurrbusch's parliamentary immunity . The police raided premises of the deputies on charges of using of symbols of unconstitutional organizations . On the Facebook page of AfD Schleswig-Holstein, for which Schnurrbusch is legally responsible, an SA symbol is said to have been shown. The district court of Kiel ruled in June 2018 that the search of his office was unlawful.

Positions

Schnurbusch lists his political positions on his party page. Accordingly, he wants to "fight" against a number of very different circumstances that he regards as a problem: against "Political correctness: Against speaking and thinking bans!"; against the "GEZ: Down with the compulsory fee!" (This means the ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio contribution service ); against "egalitarianism"; against quotas, because "performance must be worthwhile!", against "paternalism", history should be understood "out of itself"; "Fight against multiculturalism", because every culture has "its place".
