Volker Wieprecht (born October 30, 1963 in Herne ) is a German radio journalist , author and entrepreneur in Berlin .

Life

Volker Wieprecht studied German literature , philosophy and classical philology before working as a reporter for the Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) from the mid-1980s . In 1987 he began to present children's and youth programs. In April 1990 the SFB youth broadcaster Radio 4U went “on air”; Wieprecht worked there as a morning presenter from the start. In 1992/93 he interrupted this activity to work as a freelance correspondent in the USA . In 1993 Wieprecht began to work with Ken Jebsen for Radio Fritz , the youth wave of Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB). Together they moderated the morning programs. In 1994 Jebsen left Radio Fritz and switched to the Second German Television (ZDF).

Also in 1994 Wieprecht was voted best German radio presenter by the Musikexpress . At around the same time he met the editor Robert Skuppin at Radio Fritz . In him Wieprecht found a new partner at the microphone. The duo went on air together until 2011 .

In 1997 Wieprecht and Skuppin left the Fritz station together with editor-in-chief Helmut Lehnert in order to launch a new daily program for adult listeners: Together they developed the concept for Radio Eins . The station went on the air on August 29, 1997 and is now part of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB). Wieprecht also moderated with Robert Skuppin on Radio Eins, initially the weekend format The beautiful broadcast , later the weekday morning series The beautiful morning . Since 2000, both have been working mainly for the daily infotainment programs Der Tag and Die Schöne Woche on Radio Eins. In the meantime he moderates both programs without Robert Skuppin, since he was appointed program director of Radio Eins.

In 1998 Wieprecht and Skuppin founded two agencies: The apparat multimedia gmbh agency is still developing radio formats, producing radio and television programs as well as audio books and podcasts. The apparat event gmbh agency organizes parties, events and events in and around Berlin. Both agencies were wholly owned by Skuppins until the end of May 2011. Together, the duo moderated numerous regional and national events. Both have also written several books and published best-of CDs of their presentations. Skuppin is now editor-in-chief of Radio Eins and they only appear together in public on selected occasions.

In September 2013 Wieprecht received the German Radio Prize in the “Best Moderator” category.

Since February 2019 Wieprecht has been moderating the news program rbb Abendschau in alternation with the other moderators .
