The volleyball team Kiel was a volleyball club from Kiel , whose first men's team played in the 2nd Bundesliga . VT Kiel was created in 2010 through the merger of the second division team from FT Adler Kiel and the regional league team from TSV Kronshagen . In 2012 VT Kiel joined the Kiel MTV as KMTV Eagles .

Second Bundesliga men

The squad of the first men's team for the 2011/12 season consisted of fifteen players. Markus Böckermann moved to Lüneburg, Sebastian Dollinger concentrated on beach volleyball, Hendrik Matthießen switched to the second team, Malte Nagursky was only available as a temporary beach coach and Nicolai Vogt went to Wiker SV. Newcomers were the twins and German Beach U19 champions Bennet and David Poniewaz from VfL Lintorf , Jannes Klee from SV Holdenstedt and Bengt Sievers and Lorenz Schümann from their own second team. Since Kiel was one of the most important bases in Germany in beach volleyball , almost all players were also active in the sand.

The men 's coach was former national player Thomas Kröger , assistant coach Felix Renhof. As team manager after Michael Sevenheck (2008–2011), Rainer Voss directed the fortunes of the Bundesliga team.
