Vomit Remnants is a Japanese death metal band that was formed in Tokyo in 1997 and split up in 2005.
history
The band was founded in October 1997 and consisted of the drummer Keisuke Tsuboi, the guitarist Takahiro Kuwabara and the bassist Ryo Nagamizu. In December 1997 the band recorded their first demo In the Name of Vomit , whereupon Shinjiroh Sawada could be heard as a singer. The demo was advertised worldwide and appeared in various magazines. In early 1998, the group recorded a second demo with Brutally Violated . A few weeks later, the band recorded a new song that was included on the Gore Is Your Master compilation , released through Razorback Records . In early 1999, singer Sawada left the band. On the following album Supreme Entity Toshiyasu Kusayanagi was represented as a singer. The record was released in May via Macabre Mementos Records . The band then played at the Ohio Deathfest with groups such as Dying Fetus , Internal Bleeding , Dehumanized , Devourment , Gorgasm and Prophecy . In 2000 Atsuyuki Katou joined the band as a singer and guitarist. The band then went on a European tour with Fleshless and Godless Truth . The band performed at the Obscene Extreme and the Nuclear Storm Fest, among others . She also played three appearances in Germany , as well as one show each in the Netherlands , Belgium and Austria . Then the band went to the USA for a tour with Brodequin . She also released the EP Indefensible Vehemence . The band also contributed a cover version of the song Mass Obliveration for a Suffocation Tribute album. After a few more small releases, the band broke up in 2005.
style
The band was heavily influenced by New York Death Metal , with artists such as Internal Bleeding , Suffocation and Dying Fetus to be mentioned. On their only album, Supreme Entity , the group is sonically comparable to the aforementioned bands Dying Fetus and Internal Bleeding, whereby Vomit Remnants can also be assigned to Slam Death Metal . In addition, influences from Thrash Metal can be heard from time to time. The songs mostly consist of fast-played, aggressive parts that are interrupted by groovy passages. The band was also referred to as "Japanese Dying Fetus".
