Zarth , also Zarthen, was the name of an extinct Pomeranian noble family .

history

The family was first mentioned in a document with Kurt Czarten in 1528. A seal from him, which shows the family coat of arms, is documented.

The family's property was located in Pomerania, mainly in the catchment area of the Principality of Upper Pomerania . These included Dubbertech , Goldbeck , Alt Griebnitz and Neu Griebnitz , Kahlberg, Priddargen , Repkow, Sassenburg , Schulzenhagen and Stepen. Then came Wurchow in the Neustettin district . In Pomerania they also owned Eversfelde near Schlochow in the 17th century . In the end, a chamberlain von Zarth united most of the goods in one hand. A large part of it was given to von Wenden , partly as a morning gift , partly through purchase . At the end of the 18th century, no real estate belonging to the von Zarth family in Pomerania was known.

In the second half of the 18th century, some of the family's sons were still officers in the Prussian army . So in 1771 a captain von Zarth in the Sydow garrison regiment , who in 1780 became a second lieutenant in the infantry regiment v. Steinwehr advanced.

In 1789, Philipp von Zarth had his daughter Flora baptized in Königsberg , who in 1810 became the retired royal Prussian prime lieutenant. D. and hereditary lord of Budow , Otto Wilhelm Leopold von Zitzewitz married.

Later information about the sex is missing, it probably found its way out at the beginning of the 19th century.
