Band history
The three Casillas brothers founded the third wave of Ska in 1988 together with their long-time friend Jerry O'Neill. In their early years, the Voodoo Glow Skulls appeared mainly in smaller settings and in backyards.

The group of seven recorded some of their seven albums since 1993 in their own studio , Dog Run Studios . On every album the band releases at least one ska cover version of a well-known song. On the penultimate album "Adicción, Tradición, y Revolución" (2004) z. Includes a Ska version of the Guns N 'Roses classic Used To Love Her .
Music style and lyrics
Their style was largely influenced by US punk , but also by ska bands such as B. Hepcat or the thrash metal band Slayer influenced. Accordingly, the band plays a very fast ska, which - despite the hectic brass section - is dominated by guitar screeches and throaty roars. You yourself refer to your music as California Street Music .
Their lyrics are in both English and Spanish , so they re-recorded the album "Firme" entirely in Spanish. The content of the texts, which are written by Frank and Eddie Casillas, ranges from silly love songs to political and socially critical statements.
