Vytautas Strolia (born November 28, 1992 in Anykščiai ) is a Lithuanian cross-country skier and biathlete .
Career
Strolia took part in cross-country skiing competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski from 2009 to 2014 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , he finished 98th in the sprint and 91st place over 15 km classic. He ran his first World Cup races at the beginning of the 2011/12 season at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . He achieved 118th place in the sprint and 116th place over 10 km freestyle. In January 2012 he achieved his best result in the World Cup with 61st place over 15 km classic in Otepää . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , 70th place in the 30 km skiathlon was his best placement. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he reached 70th place in the sprint and over 15 km classic and 66th place in the 30 km skiathlon. After the 2013/14 season he switched to biathlon.
In the 2014/15 season he made his debut in Hochfilzen in the Biathlon World Cup and achieved 19th place with the relay. At the 2015 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , he finished 71st in the sprint and 66th in the individual. In March 2015 he came at the world championships in Kontiolahti on the 69th place in the sprint, on the 66th place in the individual and on the 23rd place with the relay. In the following season he achieved his best individual placement in the World Cup so far with 64th place in the individual in Ruhpolding and in the sprint in Presque Isle . At the 2016 Biathlon World Championships in Oslo , he finished 87th in the sprint and individual. In the 2016/17 season he undercut his best World Cup result by one place at the World Cup in Oberhof with 63rd place.
