geography

source

The walled funnel spring is located south of the New Palace in a meadow orchard, a former part of the original palace park, which was laid out as a landscape park at the beginning of the 20th century under Adolf Mensing and, in the late 1940s, after the palace was sold to the state, among local farmers and has been used for agriculture ever since.

course

After a few meters, the stream reaches a pear-shaped pond that has been preserved from the former landscape park. A small bridge over it is no longer preserved.

The brook continues to flow in a north-easterly direction and to the west drains a pond that was newly built at the beginning of the 2000s and is fed from its own spring in the castle pond . To the east, the brook drains the Hofwiese, one of the very rare agriculturally used litter meadows .

Flowing to the east, the brook passes the Krautäcker, which until the late 1940s were of agricultural importance for growing vegetables in Weißenbrunn, and which are now used as gardens and building land. Finally, the Wässerle reaches a trout pond and then flows into the Birkertsbach , which flows on to the Itz .
