The 1960/61 season was the ninth regular season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The champions were the Portland Buckaroos .

In the regular season, the eight teams played 70 games each. The six best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
