Waasen is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Oberndorf an der Melk in the Scheibbs district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 120 building areas with 38,779 m² and 32 gardens on 31,153 m² in the cadastral community Waasen , in 1989/1990 there were 94 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 96 and in 2009/2010 there were 109 buildings on 140 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 507 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of 1979/1980 and 43 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000, 394 hectares of agriculture were practiced and 31 hectares were designated as forest areas. At the end of 2018, 379 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 32 hectares. The average soil climate number of Waasen is 47 (as of 2010).
