The Wad ( Russian Вад ) is a left tributary of the Moksha in the federal districts of the Volga and Central Russia .

The wad has its source in Patschelma Rajon in Penza Oblast . The Wad flows through the Penza Oblast, Mordovia and the Ryazan Oblast in a predominantly northern direction. Its course of the river runs through a swampy forest landscape. The administrative center of Vadinsk lies on the river . The Wad finally flows into the Mokscha in the Ryazan Oblast 6 km south of Kadom , 105 km above its mouth in the Oka . The main tributaries of the Wad are Parza and Jawas , both from the right.

The wad has a length of 222 km. It drains an area of ​​6500 km². The mean discharge at the Awdalowo gauge is 7.5 m³ / s. If the water is strong, rafting can be carried out on the wad .
