The electoral district of Tyrol 18 was an electoral district for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Tyrol . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The member of parliament has to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency Tyrol 18 comprised the judicial districts Lienz , Windischmatrei and Sillian , whereby the municipality Lienz ( constituency Tyrol 4 ) was excluded from the electoral district.
From the Imperial Council election in 1907 was Josef Schraffl of the Christian Social Party emerged victorious. He got almost 92 percent of the vote in the first ballot. In the 1911 Reichsrat election he was able to successfully defend his mandate, this time getting 97 percent of the vote. Schraffl thus achieved the best result of a candidate in the 1911 Reichsrat election in Kronland Tyrol.
