The Walter-Brenninger-Bivouac is a bivouac hut in the Zillertal Alps in South Tyrol . It is located in the farthest valley of Pfunders at an altitude of 2156  m slm and primarily serves as emergency accommodation for hikers on the Pfunderer Höhenweg from Sterzing to Bruneck . The hut, built in 1970, is dedicated to the Brixen mountaineer Walter Brenninger (1913 to 1972) and is owned by the Bressanone section of the South Tyrol Alpine Club (AVS).
