Walter Salzer

Walter Salzer (born June 6, 1911 , † August 31, 1978 ) was a German chemist and pharmacist. He was a board member of the paint factories vorm. Friedr. Bayer & Co. (Bayer AG) and President of the Wuppertal Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Live and act

Salzer studied pharmacy and received his doctorate as a pharmacist. In 1938 he joined the paint factories vorm. Friedr. Bayer & Co. and became head of the Elberfeld plant in 1961 . He was the head of the production facilities and research facilities for pharmaceuticals and pesticides . On May 14, 1964, by resolution of the Supervisory Board meeting, with effect from June 1, 1964, he was appointed as a member of the Group's Management Board. Salzer played a key role in setting up the (pharmaceutical) research center on Aprather Weg in Elberfeld.

In 1970 Salzer became President of the Wuppertal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, succeeding Harald Frowein . He held this office until 1977, followed by Georg Kroll as President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid.
