Julius Möller
Johann Jacob Julius Möller (born April 20, 1793 in Duisburg ; † June 10, 1877 in Elberfeld ) was a businessman and president of the Elberfeld and Barmen Chamber of Commerce .
Life
Möller comes from a pastor's family and was the son of Anton Wilhelm Möller , senior consistorial advisor in Münster , he married the daughter of the businessman Peter Jakob Wortmann , Anna Margarete Wortmann (* 1802) in 1828 . As the owner of a major cotton and dye business , Möller was elected a member of the chamber in April 1836 . He has been entrusted with the management of special commissions several times. In June 1847 he was elected President of the Chamber, but resigned as early as October 1849. He rejected re-election as a member of the Chamber because of his other activities for the common good. In addition to his work in church life, for example, he was a city councilor from 1859 to 1865 and worked as a commercial judge.
