Walter of Christians

Walter von Christen (born February 15, 1874 in Werleshausen , Province of Saxony , † March 16, 1944 in Wennigsen (Deister) , Province of Hanover ) was a Prussian administrative officer.

Walter von Christen was born in 1874 on the Werleshausen family estate near Witzenhausen in the Prussian province of Saxony. His father was the politician Hermann von Christen . His brothers were the district administrator Fritz von Christen and the major a. D. Heino from Christians . He was married to Irmgard geb. Freiin v. Printz (1890-1966). Christen studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1893 and became a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen in 1894 . There he wrote his legal dissertation and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD.

As Regierungsassessor he was in 1908 District Administrator of the district Bartenstein in the Prussian province of East Prussia to succeed Heinrich von Gottberg , whom he had represented since October 1906 because of health-related partial invalidity. In 1914 he was transferred to the government in Hanover, where he served as Councilor worked. After the death of his father in 1919 he was co-heir of the Werleshausen manor near Witzenhausen an der Werra . The former manor is now in Hesse due to the Wanfried Agreement .
