Warner Bros. Movie World is a theme park in Oxenford on the Gold Coast in Australia . It has been owned by Village Roadshow since it was acquired by WarnerMedia and is the only film-based theme park in Australia. Warner Bros. Movie World opened on June 3, 1991.

The park contains various film-based rides and attractions. Many of the well-known Warner Bros. and DC characters walk around the park, giving visitors the opportunity to have their pictures taken with them. Catwoman , Batman , Austin Powers , Marilyn Monroe , Shrek , Scooby Doo , The Mystery Inc. Gang and various Looney Tunes characters, among others .

Several active film studios can be found in the Movie World complex. House of Wax , The Scooby-Doo films, the Peter Pan movie from 2003, Ghost Ship , The Condemned and Fortress are some of the films and television series that the Warner Roadshow Studios were produced.

History of the park

In 1989 the construction of the Warner Bros. Movie World began . The park was designed by CV Wood , who was previously responsible for other parks such as Six Flags Over Texas . The park was completed within 16 months and opened on June 3, 1991.
