The top of the Wassberg is quite flat. Towards Lake Zurich ( 406  m above sea level ) in the south and west, the terrain does not descend particularly steeply at first. Otherwise the Wassberg is heavily forested, interspersed with individual meadows and fields. In addition to numerous field, forest and hiking trails, a small road leads from the Forch to the north-west over the mountain, which then meets the connecting road Zumikon - Ebmatingen in the north-west. To the west is the Zumikon golf course . In the area Sack operates Scouts Maur a Pfadfinderheim . Right next to it there used to be a gravel pit that was filled up again.

Origin of name

The name probably goes back to numerous brooks that have their origins on the Wassberg, such as the Werenbach in the west , which rises at P. 728, the Aschbach in the north and the Rausenbach , the Haumesserbach and the Aescherbach , both in the east Maurmer Dorfbach flow. In addition, in the south of the runs Küsnacht Gorge forming Küsnachter village stream .
