List of water towers in the Düren district

The water towers in the Düren district are in different communities in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Only two water towers are used as such today.

Note the water tower Remember Düren The water tower in Düren 's Merken district is at the corner of Roermonder Strasse and Quirinusstrasse. It has been converted into a residential tower. The tower was built around 1930 and is entered in the list of monuments of the city of Düren under No. 11/001 . It says: The cylindrical brick tower has concrete structures. The water tower has round-arched pilaster strips in the substructure. Inside was a reinforced concrete water tank.

Machine house with water tower of the LVR clinic Düren Düren In the grounds of the LVR clinic in Düren on Meckerstraße there is a water tower that served to supply the clinic area. The tower with the machine house is listed under No. 1 / 001l in the list of monuments of the city of Düren . There it says: The building has an integrated water tower in neo-Romanesque forms. The two-storey machine house is on the eaves facing the central axis with a five-storey elaborately designed water tower on a square floor plan with bevelled corners. The building was made of bricks. The walls and cornices are made of red sandstone. The original roof structure was destroyed in World War II and replaced by a flat roof. Inside is a riveted rectangular steel container.

Water tower Stebenich Jülich-Stebenich The 42 m high water tower, which was built in 1902, is located near the Stetternich district of Jülich . After the tower, which was then in Jülich, was destroyed in World War II on November 16, 1944, it was rebuilt in 1957 on the outskirts of Stetternich. The water tower, which was renovated in 2005, can store 700 m³ of drinking water in order to compensate for pressure fluctuations in the water supply network . The tower is operated by Stadtwerke Jülich and is still in operation.
Merzenich tower windmill Merzenich The tower in Merzenich is visible from afar at the corner of Mühlenstraße / Zum Mühlendriesch. It was built from bricks as a four- story tower windmill in 1609 . After a steam mill was built in the village in the 19th century , the windmill lost its importance and fell into disrepair. In 1902 the tower was raised to be used as a water tower. Later it was used as a local museum. Today the building is used as an exhibition space for the local culture and monument association . The tower is entered under No. 21 in the list of monuments of the municipality of Merzenich . There it says: 1608 according to the inscription in the masonry; Renovation and reconstruction in 1912 according to the weather vane; 4-storey round brick tower with a basket arched passage on the ground floor, Renaissance portals on both sides made of limestone with diamond ashlar, irregular window division with ashlar walls, the upper tower area rebuilt in 1912, e.g. Partly clad with wooden shingles, slate roof, weathered coat of arms stone above the city-side portal.

Ginnick water tower Vettweiß ginnick The water tower, built in 1955 with a storage volume of 400 m³, is operated by the water pipeline association of the Neffeltal communities in Vettweiß.
