Merzenich local history museum

The Merzenich local history museum is located in Merzenich , Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The museum opened on June 5, 1988. It was set up by the members of the local history and history association in the Engelen farm complex . This complex was first mentioned in 1688 and was still inhabited until 1983. The farm is since 16 February 1984 under monument protection .

In the old half-timbered house , two rooms with original furniture as well as a bakery and smokehouse were prepared. In addition, a blacksmith and a shoemaker's workshop as well as a mill in the barn can be visited.

For the efforts to establish the museum which gave Rhineland Regional Council to the members of the history and heritage association, September 12, 1989 Rhineland dollars .
