Orion Museum

The Orion Museum is located in Golzheim , a part of the Merzenich community in the Düren district .

Josef Hilger from Golzheim is a fan of the television series Raumpatrouille - The fantastic adventures of the Orion spaceship . From September 17, 1966, it was broadcast biweekly on Saturday evenings according to the ARD's Tagesschau in seven parts.

The 63-year-old graduate engineer for general electrical engineering collects everything that belongs to the series. He also knows some of the cast personally. He also owns original props, e.g. B. the sword HM4 or the ice cream scoop, which was shown as a robot hand. All scripts , film strips and sketches by the technicians who created the effects are in his possession. The most famous part of the collection is the iron , which can be seen as part of the engine room in the series.

Hilger showed parts of his collection on the occasion of the series' 40th birthday in Berlin . In Bonner Haus der Geschichte parts were on display the collection on "science fiction in Germany." He exhibited parts of the 2019 collection in the Eifel Nature Center in Nettersheim . On this occasion, the Post issued a special cancellation.

On August 15, 2020 Hilger was in the 100th TV show Hard to believe! to see.

It is not possible to visit the museum.

Hiler published a book about this collection in 2000 that has become the standard work for fans of the series. The second edition has been on the market since 2005
