Local history museum Grafschaft Molbach

The local history museum Grafschaft Molbach is located in Obermaubach in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

In the private museum, which opened in 1998, the 850-year history of Obermaubach and Schlagstein is presented. Arnold Kilburg has compiled numerous certificates and documents on the rulership and territorial history of the Rurtalorte . Photos from the time of the construction of the Obermaubach reservoir and the creation of the teaching vineyard complete the picture. Josef Tings brought his more than 1000 archaeological finds from the Paleolithic to the New Stone Age , such as stone axes , arrowheads , hand axes and clubs, into the museum.
