Linnich local history museum

The local history museum Linnich is an association for the preservation and care of local cultural assets Linnich 1978 (Museumsverein) e. V. founded museum that deals with the history of the city of Linnich and its surroundings. After a long period of preparation and collection of exhibits , it was opened in October 1991. It is located in the service wing of the Dohms-Haus , a former estate on Altermarkt . Parts of the city administration, including the citizens' office, are now housed in the main building.

The collection includes prehistoric finds, sacred art, numerous exhibits from the fields of agriculture, handicrafts and also evidence of industrial development, such as the stoves of the local manufacturer Coenen. The “Venus von Linnich” is a special find from the time of Roman settlement. This sandstone statuette from the 2nd century AD can be seen in the original.
